Attock Group of Companies with a history spread over nearly 100 years is today, the only fully integrated group covering all segments of oil and gas sector from exploration to production and refining to marketing of petroleum products, besides being also engaged in manufacturing and trading of cement and other entrepreneurial activities.

The Attock Group is sponsored by "Pharaon Group", which is engaged internationally in diversified types of entrepreneurial activities, which include hotels, oil exploration, production and refining, manufacturing of petroleum products, chemicals, manufacturing and trading of cement, and the real estate sector. The Group is engaged in oil & gas exploration and refining activities in Pakistan since 1913 and rightly claims to be pioneers and pace setters in various fields.

AOC - THE ATTOCK OIL COMPANY LIMITED: The Attock Oil Company Limited (AOC) was incorporated in United Kingdom on December 1, 1913. The Company is principally engaged in exploration, drilling and production of petroleum and related activities in Pakistan. AOC had its first oil discovery at Khaur, district Attock in 1915.
There-after, AOC has made significant contribution in promoting oil and gas exploration in the country by opening up to Potohar Basin as the first oil producing area. The Potohar Basin remained the only oil producing basin in Pakistan till the early 1970s. Exploration efforts by AOC helped the country to manage part of the domestic oil demand and saved substantial foreign exchange.
The Company managed to sustain oil production by discovering new oil reserves at regular intervals. Presently, AOC has exploration and production joint venture with Pakistan Oilfields Limited, Oil & Gas Development Compnay Limited Orient Petroleum International Inc and Tullow Oil (Developments) Pakistan Limited. AOC is the holding Company of Pakistan Oilfields Limited and Atoock Refinery Limited; both are public limited Companies and listed on the stock exchanges in Pakistan.
POL PAKISTAN OILFIELDS LIMITED: Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) promoted by the AOC was incorporated on November 25, 1950 as a Pakistani Oil Exploration and Production Company. In 1978, POL took over from AOC, the entire oil & gas exploration, production, gas processing and transmission activities. Since then, it has been investing independently and in joint ventures with various E&P companies for the search of Oil and Gas in Pakistan. It is listed on the three Stock Exchanges of the country.
POL is the 3rd largest producer of Oil in Pakistan. It operates in nine Development and production Leases over Balkassar, Dhulian, Joya Mair, Khaur, Turkeal, Meyal, Minwal, Pariwali and Pindori fields. POL has exploration and production joint ventures with both local and multinational E&P Companies in Pakistan.
Aside from exploration and production of oil & gas, POL also operates an extensive network of pipelines for transporting its own crude oil from Khaur as well as that of others to Attock Refinery Limited. POL has gas processing plants at Meyal and Pindori fields. It also manufactures LPG, Solvent Oil and sulphur. POL markets LPG under its own brand name of POLGAS as well as through its subsidiary CAPGAS (Private) Limited.
ARL - ATTOCK REFINERY LIMITED: Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) is the pioneer in crude oil refining in the country with its operations dating back to 1922. From batch distillation stills of 2500 Barrels per Day (BPD) capacity, ARL has today grown into a modern state of the art refinery with a capacity of 40,000 BPD. It is receiving and processing crude from Northern and Southern Oilfields of Pakistan.
ARL was incorporated as a Private Limited Company in November, 1978 to take the business of the AOC relating to refining of crude oil and supplying of refined petroleum products. It was subsequently converted into a Public Limited Company in June 1979 and is listed on the three Stock Exchanges of the country.
Strategically located at Rawalpindi, ARLs configuration/processing allows it to process from the heaviest to the lights (12-54 API) crudes to produce a complete range of petroleum products from LPG to asphalt including specialty products such as jet fuels, Cutback Asphalts, Polymer Modified Asphalt, Jute Bathing Oil, Mineral Turpentine Oil and Solvent Oil.
ARL is committed to provide the best quality products in the market and endeavours to protect the environment and to ensure health and safety of its employees, contractor and customers. ARLs management is committed to achieve the targets of enhancing its refining capacity, diversification of its operations, provision of environment friendly quality petroleum products, clean, pollution fee production practices and improved services.
NATIONAL REFINERY LIMITED: National Refinery Limited (NRL) was incorporated as a Public Limited Company at Karachi in 1963 and is listed on the three stock exchanges of the country. NRL is a petroleum refining and petrochemical complex producing a wide range of fuels, lubes, BTX (petrochemicals), asphalts and specially products for domestic consumption and exports.
NRL has crude oil processing capacity of 62,000 BPD. Its lube refineries have a design capacity of 176,200 TPA of lube base oils (LBO) and its BTX unit has a design capacity of 25,000 TPA. NRL is the only refinery producing lube base oils in Pakistan. The Attock Oil Group through the process of Privatisation acquired 51% shareholding of NRL, with management control in 2005, thus becoming the largest Group in Oil & Gas sector of Pakistan.
NRL objectives and development strategy are aimed at achieving sustainable productivity and profitability and high standards of safety, occupational health and environmental care. This entails human resource re-engineering & development, enhancing value addition, implementing conversation measures and continuing growth through up gradation of existing, as well as addition of new facilities in the changing global environment.
ATTOCK PETROLEUM LIMITED: Attock Petroleum Limited (APL), sponsored by the "Pharaon Investment Group Limited Holdings s.a.i" and Attock Oil Group of Companies, started its operations in 1997. It is listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange.
Main objective of APL was to establish a Group Company in downstream petroleum sector for marketing of petroleum products in Pakistan, which historically was restricted to three major players in this field. APL has been able to effectively penetrate the market in a short period of time by competing with well-established OMCs.
APL is continuously expanding its network of retail outlets in urban as well as rural areas of Pakistan. Its retail outlets are fully equipped with modern equipment and best service facilities to provide extraordinary service to the customers. Further, with its state-of-the-art Storage Terminals at Rawalpindi, Karachi and Machike and planned storage terminals at Mehmood Kot, Taru Jabba and Port Bin Qasim, the Company is well postured to meet the growing demand of its customers.
APL has become a major exporter of petroleum products to Afghanistan and is also facilitating export of Naphtha to Middle East, Far East and South Asia. APL is also registered with Afghan Investment Support Agency (AISA) to operate in Afghanistan as an OMC and has established its office in Kabul.
ATTOCK CEMENT PAKISTAN LIMITED: Attock Cement Pakistan Limited (ACPL) was incorporated in Pakistan on October 14, 1981 as a Public Limited Company and is listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange. The company started its commercial production on June 1, 1988 and has recently added a new plant with a capacity of 3,300 Metric Tons Per Day (MTPD) making a total production capacity of 7,700 MTPD.
ACPL has a network of dealers all around Pakistan making sure that its product is available to consumers at their doorsteps. Apart from selling "Falcon Brand" in commercial market, ACPL is proud to claim a share in building major projects of national and strategic importance in Pakistan.
ACPL ensures that its product, price, place and promotion are elected in the form of satisfaction to its valued customers. That makes ACPL the market leader and trusted name in the construction sector. The companys cement manufacturing plant is located in Tehsil Hub, District Lasbella, Balochistan.

As it enters the power sector with the inauguration of AGLs 165 MW power plant today, Attock Group looks forward to undertake more power projects in future.
