The administrative judge of the anti-terrorist courts, Justice Mian Muhammad Najamuz Zaman of the Lahore High Court has directed the judges of the anti-terrorist courts to expedite the disposal of cases. Justice Zaman, gave these directions while presiding over a meeting of the presiding officers of the courts here on Thursday.
The judge was briefed about the pendency of cases indifferent courts. He ordered speedy disposal of cases in courts with larger pendency. The judges assured him that they would make all possible efforts to ensure disposal of the cases at the earliest possible.
The judge also heard the problems being faced at the anti-terrorist courts. Security issue was on top of the problems. Installation of walkthrough gates at the courts, provision of metal detectors to the security staff, installation of power generators and computers and posting of permanent staff at the courts also came under discussion.
The meeting was attended by inspection team member Syed Kazim Raza Shamsi, Additional Member Rana Irshad Ullah and Anti-Terrorist Courts judges Jamshed Hussain, Khaliquz Zaman, Bashir Ahmed Chatha, Syed Mouzaffar Ali Shah, Muhammad Islam, Muhammad Shafi, Tariq Iftikhar Ahmed, Syed Pervez Ali Shah, Chaudhry Amir Muhammad Khan, Chaudhry Habibur Rehman, Sakhi Muhammad Kahut, Hassan Mahriz and ChaudhryAbdul Hafeez.
