Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Maulana Abbas Ansari has called upon the governments of India and Pakistan to amicably resolve the Kashmir dispute for the safe and secure future of people of South Asia in occupied Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Maulana Abbas Ansari in a statement issued in occupied Srinagar said that for this purpose, both the neighbouring countries needed to take serious and sincere steps to resolve the Kashmir dispute. He said the opening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road did not serve the desired purpose. Restoration of the road-link was a positive step but it didnt serve the basic purpose for which it was opened, he added.
The APHC leader said that the objective behind opening the road was to restore the snapped contact between people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and occupied Kashmir and provide an opportunity for the divided families to re-establish contacts. "Had the people been provided adequate travel facilities at different points on border, it would have served the purpose well," he stressed.
