Two Australian football players have been fined over an amateur video depicting a condom-clad rubber chicken performing sex acts on a chicken carcass, their club said. North Melbournes Adam Simpson and Daniel Pratt were each fined five thousand dollars (3,550 US) after confessing on a football talk show this week that they had been taken part in making the film.
The Kangaroos Australian rules club said it would donate the money to a welfare organisation for victims of domestic violence or sexual abuse. "Whilst it is noted that the individuals primarily involved in this incident have accepted responsibility for their behaviour, the club felt it was appropriate in the circumstances that they be sanctioned," the Kangaroos said in a statement late Thursday.
"The club deeply regrets the creation and dissemination of the video and unconditionally apologises for the harmful and offensive content." The four-minute video was made during pre-season training in December, and was uploaded to the YouTube video sharing site via the social networking page of a Kangaroos player.
