A recent poll conducted by Gallup Pakistan showed that the decision of Punjab government to restrict weddings dinners to one-dish events is welcomed by two-third Pakistanis. "Sixty-seven percent are in the favour of limiting wedding feasts to one-dish only," revealed the survey.
The two-day poll was conducted on January 11-12, involving 2901 men and women from rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country. According to the survey, majority of the people claim to be happy with the governments recent decision on having only one dish at all weddings.
When the respondents were asked "Recently Punjab government has announced strict implementation of one dish restriction at weddings. Do you favour or oppose this step?" most of the respondents (67 percent) showed support to the decision, while only 15 percent opposed it. Seventeen percent are not sure whether they favour or oppose this step. The remaining four percent did not answer.
