Dr Wasim Kauser, Inspector General, National Highways and Motorway Police has directed the Patrolling officers of Motorway police to present highly sophisticated behaviour and graciousness with the violators and execute their duties with keenness and allegiance.
He further advised them to reinforce this aspect to promote a culture of soft but firm policing in Pakistan. The IG passed these remarks while inspecting the N-5 Central zone (Lahore-Multan-Rahim Yar Khan). During this inspection he stopped at various points to inspect the public dealings at time of enforcing the law and extending the help to the distressed road users by the NH&MP Patrolling officers.
He articulated the standard operating procedure (SOP) of NH&MP field working and said that during the public dealing, the patrolling officers must receive the violators with smile and felicitation and execute their responsibilities as per law with politeness and respect.
He stressed upon the progressive improvement in the field working and to maintain overall towering standard of this force. He expressed his vision to take NH&MP on new horizon of excellence. He said that the NH&MP has earned a good repute owing to friendly attitude of its officials towards commuters. He advised them to perform their duties while realising it sacred to sustain the image of the department.
Meanwhile, NH&MP has recovered two stolen vehicles and arrested five car-lifters by prompt action. As per details, MP received an information that a Suzuki Mehran Car No LOR-8656 has been stolen from the jurisdiction of Westrige Police Station, Rawalpindi and Motorway Police may help in the recovery of said vehicle.
On receiving this information, all the patrolling vehicles of NH&MP were got alerted. After few minutes, the NH&MP officers PO Najum-ul-Hassan and PO Karamat Usmani succeeded in stopping the said car through commando action on Motorway (M-2) Main Toll Plaza, Islamabad. Two culprits named Muhammad Yunas s/o Syed Muhammad and Kamaran s/o Anwar r/o Peshawar was arrested and car was taken into custody.
In another incident, during routine patrolling on GT road in the area of Rahim Yar Khan, Motorway Police officers SPO Sajjad Hussain and PO Irshad signalled a speedy Mehran Car No KWS-16 to stop, but instated of stopping, the driver sped away.
However, NH&MP officers chased and stopped the car through commando action and arrested three culprits named Muhammad Abbas s/o Malik Aman-ul-llah, Muhammad Ali s/o Zahid Hussain and Muhammad Irshad s/o Zahoor Ahmed r/o Bahawalpur. On investigation, it revealed that no car was registered with the said numberplate and the culprit had stolen the car.-PR
