The noble initiative undertaken by Defence Society Residents Association (DSRA) Educational and Welfare Trust School to provide quality education to the underprivileged students from low-income areas around DHA was commendable.
Administrator DHA Brigadier Khalid Tirmizi said this as the chief guest at the annual prize distribution ceremony of DSRA Educational and welfare Trust School, which was held at Askari Markaz in DHA Phase-I here on Friday. He said education was the birth right of every child and all children should be provided equal opportunities to learn and progress in life irrespective of their status.
He stressed that education was the lifeline of nation and determined its status in the comity of nations. Brigadier Tirmizi said the phenomenal progress and growth of DSRA Trust School was truly impressive. The standard of education at the Trusts School was comparable to any leading English medium school of the metropolis, he added. He termed the Schools performance as a shinning example of excellence and commitment, which was inspiring.
The Administrator said it was heartening that at DSRA Trust School the students were provided enabling environment to develop their personality and character in its essence. He said the confidence and conduct of the children coming from modest background was reassuring and he could see a bright future of the nation in them. Brigadier Tirmizi said, "children are our assets and the best investment we can make for our future with optimum returns is in education."
The Administrator assured DSRA Trust Schools management of the wholehearted support of DHA for the cause of education. He also announced a donation of 0.1 million for the School and 5,000 rupees for the best student of the year. Earlier, DSRA Welfare Trust Chairman Admiral (Retd) Sajjad Akbar in his inaugural address vowed that the Trust was committed to provide quality education to the children of the underprivileged class as the best welfare measure.-PR
