The students branches of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institute of Industrial Electronics Engineering (IIEE) are organising a seminar on e-Indus 2009 at the IIEE auditorium here on April 25.
e-Indus 2009 is a student project paper seminar and project exhibition in which student groups from various institutes of Pakistan would be presenting their project papers and exhibiting their projects.
It would cover various disciplines of electrical, electronics, industrial electronics, computer systems and software engineering, and the participants would be over 350 students, engineers, faculty members, deans, professionals and entrepreneurs. e-Indus 2009 has become a special event, as the IEEE would also be celebrating its platinumised silver jubilee--125 years this year.
IEEE is a non-profit, technical professional association of more than 350,000 individual members in 150 countries. Through its members, it is a leading authority in technical areas, ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others. Through its technical publishing, conferences and consensus-based standards activities, the IEEE:
-- Produces 30 percent of the worlds published literature in electrical engineering, computers and control technology.
-- Holds annually more than 300 major conferences, and
-- Has more than 800 active standards, with 700 under development.
