President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday invited former Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President and PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan for talks, Aaj TV reported on Monday. Quoting sources, the channel claimed that purpose of the meeting is to remove differences between the ruling PPP, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
Sources further claimed that Aitzaz could be appointed as Punjab governor or some key post may be offered to him. President wants to settle the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) issue with the judiciary through reconciliation, the channel added.
