The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industrys former senior vice president Frooq Iftikhar on Wednesday left for China as head of the LCCI delegation to attend Canton Fair-2009. According to the LCCI spokesman Shahid Khalil, 81 LCCI members are likely to take part in the Canton Fair-2009 while a large number of members have already flown to China to participate in the fair which has become regular feature.
With a view to attract Chinese investment in Pakistan, Farooq Iftikhar will hold business meetings during his stay in China, he said. A large number of businessmen across the world attend the fair every year that continues about a month, he added.
He said that despite the free trade agreement between Pakistan and China, the export potential available to Pakistani entrepreneurs could not be exploited. In view of this fact, the delegation would explore the opportunities to enhance Pakistans exports to China, he added.
