The Karachi Port handled 147,802 tonnes of cargo including 121,264 tonnes of import and 26,538 tonnes of export, 4,584 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The freights comprised of 83,132 tonnes of dry cargo including 65,284 tonnes of general cargo; 11,689 tonnes of fertiliser; 4,604 tonnes of cement; 1,555 tonnes of sulpher and 64,670 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Five ships namely Al Mirqab, TS Jakarta, Ionian Trader, Nayab 1 and Petrolink 6 sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels Apl Sharjah, MT Johar, LTC Calvin Pititus, MSC Delta, BBC Switzerland, and Gulf Ahmadi are currently at the berths. Seven ships namely ST Stephan, MSC Delta, Torm Venture, LTC Calvin Pititus, Canopus Leader and Sun Shine are expected to sail on Wednesday, while a ship namely MT Johar is expected to sail on Thursday.
Five vessels viz Hyundai Duke, Kota Handal, Buxlagoon, Ocean Host and Santiago carrying containers, coal and cement, due to arrive on Wednesday while nine ships namely Miss Lucy, Gulf Tiger, Bauhinia Bridge, Bunga Teratai, Annal, Team Al Emirates, Bulk arrow, Blida and Fatima 1 carrying mogas, coal and cement, are due to arrive on Thursday.
The cargoes comprised of 32,571 tonnes of furnace oil; 10,119 tonnes of palm oil; 9,340 tonnes of sun flower seeds; 1,540 tonnes of cement and 33,195 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two ships, Maersk Missouri and Navigator Gemini sailed out to sea during last 24 hours while two more vessels CV CSAV Pyrenees and Nedlloyed Aisa are expected to sail on Wednesday. Total eight ships namely CV CSAV Pyrenees, CV Nedlloyed Aisa, MV Lady Nariman, MV Sea Pride, MT Giovanna Iuliano, MT Global Triton, MT Samho Heron and MT Baltic occupied the berth to load/offload containers, cement, sun flower seeds, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during reported period.
A total of Thirteen ships namely Saudi Diryah, German-S, Golden Crest, Nogo Gini, Nod Venus, Fu Da, Beluga Intonation, Orient-III, Leopard-B, Adams, Orbit, Abyot and Khairpur carrying containers, palm oil, diesel oil, canola seeds, project cargo, Cement and rice respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. Four ships namely Saudi Diryah, Germa-S, MT Sichem Defender and MT Swat scheduled to take berth at International Container Terminal and Port Qasim, respectively on Wednesday. While an oil tanker viz MT Al-Salam-II is due to arrive on Thursday.
