Food Support Scheme: seventh instalment to 0.9 million deserving families despatched

The Punjab government has dispatched seventh instalment to 900,000 deserving families in the province under its Food Support Scheme while money orders to rest of the 500,000 families would be dispatched during next week. This was disclosed by the Chairman Task Force on essential items and administrator of the Food Support Scheme, S. A. Hameed while presiding over a meeting here on Friday.
Hameed said that monitoring teams were working to correct the name, addresses and other details of those families who could not receive financial support due to wrong or incomplete addresses and other details. He assured that support would be sent to them shortly.
He said that public representatives and officials of Pakistan post had been directed to redress the lists at the earliest while DCOs of all the districts had also been provided with such lists for correction. He said that concerned member of the Punjab Assembly and DCO could also be approached if any family not receives financial assistance.
