Chairman Pak-Oman Asset Management Company Limited Yahya Bin Said Bin Abdullah Al-Jabri, met Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Friday at Chief Minister's Secretariat. Matters regarding investment and co-operation in various sectors were discussed in the meeting. Chief Minister said that Pakistan and Oman were brotherly Islamic countries and had deep-rooted and close relations.
He said that Pak-Oman Asset Management Company Limited was playing a significant role for the promotion of trade between the two countries, however there still is vast opportunities of mutual co-operation in different sectors. He said that Pakistan was rich in natural resources and there was a wide scope of investment in agriculture, livestock and agro-based industries in Punjab.
He said that Pakistan could export agri-products to Saudi Arabia, Oman and other countries of the Middle East and Pakistan and Oman could launch joint ventures in this regard. Shahbaz said that Punjab had also large coal reserves which could be utilised for energy generation and the company could invest in this sector.
He said that Pakistan was currently facing security problems as well as other challenges but all possible measures were being taken for the elimination of terrorism and militancy so that a peaceful society could be established and foreign investment could be attracted for the progress and development of the country. He said that Punjab Board of Investment had been established for encouraging and providing all out facilities to foreign investors. He said that the company should provide loans for different projects in Punjab.
He said that exchange of maximum number of delegations should be made between Oman and Punjab for co-operation in various sectors and benefiting from each other's expertise. Chairman Pak-Oman Asset Management Company Yahya Bin Said Bin Abdullah Al-Jabri said that his company was making investment in different sectors and it has many branches in Pakistan. He also showed interest in further co-operation in various sectors and said that exchange of delegations would not only open new avenues of co-operation but would also strengthen trade relations. He also invited the Chief Minister to visit Oman.
Managing Director Pak-Oman Asset Management Company Limited, Hina Ghazanfar, Agha Ahmad Shah and Chief Executive Orix Leasing Hamayun Murad gave details about different sections of the company. Earlier, Members Provincial Assembly Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, Shaheryar Riaz, Imran Ashraf, Chief Secretary, Secretaries of Communication & Works, Commerce & Investment, Finance Departments and President Bank of Punjab informed the Chairman about investment opportunities in various sectors.
