HBO is falling; ‘Game of Thrones’ latest episode leaked online
HBO’s most famous franchise, the ‘Game of Thrones’ recently returned to the television with its most anticipated 7th season but the company faced a great set back as its site got hacked in the midst of the show’s airing.
The hackers got their hands on the script of the unaired fourth episode of the show putting ‘GoT’ rating in danger. Entertainment Weekly reported that hackers claim they took 1.5 terabytes of data from the pay-cable channel and that they put upcoming episodes of ‘Ballers’ and ‘Room 104’ online. But the big find would be a script from the fourth episode of ‘Game of Thrones’, airing next week.
On this matter the HBO Chairman Richard Plepler wrote a message to employees, which the company shared with reporters; "As most of you have probably heard by now, there has been a cyber incident directed at the company which has resulted in some stolen proprietary information, including some of our programming."
According to EW, some reporters got anonymous emails on Sunday indicating the hack, the email read: "Hi to all mankind," the email reads. "The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What's its name? Oh I forget to tell. Its HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!! You are lucky to be the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy it & spread the words. Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him. HBO is falling."
The extent of what has went to the hacker’s possession regarding the ‘Game of Thrones’ episodes is still uncertain.
