Opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday said that PML (N) firmly believes in peace and stability within Pakistan but also wants to ensure that the Pakistani soil is not used to export militancy, strife or violence in any other part of the world.
He was addressing a luncheon meeting hosted by the Group of Resident Asian Heads of Mission (GRAHM) at the residence of Bangladesh's High Commissioner to Pakistan Yasmeen Murshed here on Tuesday. Ambassadors from all non-Arab countries of Asia and Australia attended the briefing.
Ambassadors from Japan, Iran, India, Australia, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Maldives, Korea, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Krygistan and others participated. Addressing the gathering Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan impressed upon all the countries of the region to re-orient their policies in line with the changed international and geo- political situation.
He said that in the current scenario, no country in the world could live in isolation nor can it remain oblivious to what was happening in the region and beyond. For that a comprehensive policy and strategy involving all the countries of the region needs to be evolved and implemented to address the serious political, economic, social and geo-political problems facing the region and the world. He said that his party PML(N) believes in the concept of democracy, rule of law, consolidation of national institutions and good governance within the country and a message of peace and goodwill to all the countries beyond its frontiers.
