Wheat futures on all three US exchanges soared early Thursday led by the Minneapolis spring wheat market amid planting delays due to soggy fields in the northern Plains, traders said. Minneapolis May wheat was up 13-1/2 cents at $6.67 a bushel early, with Chicago Board of Trade and Kansas City wheat futures up 11 to 12 cents.
