Aamir Khan reveals first official trailer of ‘Secret Superstar’

The trailer of Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim's ‘Secret Superstar’ is out and immediately went viral.

‘Secret Superstar’ is the story of Insiya, a Muslim girl from a conservative family, with dreams of becoming the biggest singer in the country. Unable to reach anywhere due to family pressures, she secretly reaches her audience on YouTube and becomes an internet sensation. Aamir Khan plays the role of a music director Shakti Kumar.

Khan is known for producing movies with a powerful public awareness messages.

“Both Dangal and this film are based on the same topic... that we look differently at our daughters. And probably we aren’t able to give the same treatment to our daughters as our sons. So, Secret Superstar is another film based on empowerment of the girl child,” Aamir said when asked about the message that Secret Superstar carries for the society.

Earlier, Zaira played the younger version of wrestler Geeta Phogat in Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’.

Directed by Advait Chandan, the movie is produced by Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao. ‘Secret Superstar’ was initially scheduled to release this Friday on August 4, alongside Imtiaz Ali's romantic comedy ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, but Aamir postponed the release to Diwali. Now, it will clash with Rohit Shetty's comedy ensemble ‘Golmaal Again’.
