Shaving cream lands Shah Rukh Khan in legal trouble
A man has reportedly filed a complaint against the ‘King Khan’ of Bollywood, blaming him for falsely advertising products that may be harmful if used.
The Bhopal resident took his complaint to the consumer court after he developed rashes on his skin using the shaving cream that Shah Rukh Khan endorses. The man alleged that the ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ star is deceiving his fans, promoting products that are unsafe to use. The Bhopal court has officially sent a notice to Shah Rukh Khan, the owner of the company that manufactures the shaving cream, a local shopkeeper and the director of Madhya Pradesh Food and Drugs Department, Indian media reported.
The shaving cream advertisement is famous for Shah Rukh Khan’s dialogue, calling the product as ‘India’s number one’. Reportedly, the man has also claimed that he has gotten the cream tested at the Madhya Pradesh Food and Drugs Department and the report says the cream is of low, bad quality.
Shah Rukh Khan has still not reacted to this matter, however, SRK's spokesperson released an official statement rubbishing the allegations. The statement reads, “First and foremost, Mr. Shah Rukh Khan is currently not the ambassador of the said brand. The contract between the shaving cream brand and Mr. Khan terminated in April 2016. Also, we have not received any notice so far”.
The superstar is currently busy promoting his movie, ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ opposite Anushka Sharma. The movie is set to release on August 4.
