Currency speculators increased their long US dollar positions in the latest week, according to data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Friday. The value of the US dollar's net long position was $4.79 billion in the week ending April 21, up from net long transactions of $2.82 billion the prior week.
The aggregate US dollar position is derived from the net positions of International Monetary Market speculators in the yen, euro, British pound, Swiss franc, Canadian, and Australian dollars.
