Steps taken to ensure transparent wheat procurement

Necessary steps have been taken to monitor and ensure transparent procurement of wheat across the province, said Director General, Surveillance, Tariq Feroze on Monday. He noted that farmers were reportedly facing difficulty in obtaining empty bags from the Food department.
"Now the growers can bring their grain in their own gunny bags and would be paid Rs 40 per empty bag, besides price of the wheat", he added. Tariq Feroze said that at every procurement centre a facilitation centre has been set up to guide the growers.
