Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has earned Rs 7.195 billion as profit after tax in the quarter ended March 31, 2009 as compared to Rs 5.676 billion in the same period in 2008. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Monday declared that the company's earning per share has increased to Rs 8.67 in the period under review against Rs 6.84 in the same period last year.
According to the financial results, the company's net sales increased to Rs 15.732 billion in this period against Rs 11.959 billion in the same period a year back. The company paid Rs 4.912 billion as field expenditure and royalties in this period against Rs 3.703 billion in the same period last year. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 11.065 billion in this quarter against Rs 8.472 billion in the same quarter in 2008.
