Neymar exit, what’s next for Barca?
As Neymar has signed a world record deal with Paris Saint Germain (PSG), now Barcelona are in search to bring in a replacement for Brazilian star.
With less than a month to go until the end of the transfer window, the Blaugrana need to act quickly if they are to bring in a replacement.
They have plenty of cash in their back pocket, the La Liga giants will be able to flash the cash and overspend as they bid to bring in a big name to ensure Ernesto Valverde has a fighting chance to challenge Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants have plenty of options available but they are running out of time. Here are a few good options that Camp Nou may consider.
Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool:
Barcelona have already had a £70m bid knocked back and Liverpool will remain determined to hold on to their talisman after the Brazilian recently extended his deal for five more years.
With huge funds coming in from PSG though, Barcelona may be forced to offer a fee beyond £100m, which may make the Reds think twice.
Ousmane Dembele, Borussia Dortmund:
A natural replacement for the 25-year-old [Neymar], who can play on either wing, the France international has the ability and potential to become a superstar in the game.
Kylian Mbappe, Monaco:
Barcelona fans are mostly disillusioned with Neymar and the manner in which the club has been run in recent years.
One way to appease them and inject some good will would be to pinch Kylian Mbappe from under the noses of eternal rivals Real Madrid.
Thomas Lemar, Monaco:
After Tiemoue Bakayoko, Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy's exit, Monaco are under immense pressure from their star players to avoid stripping the side of even more talent.
But Lemar has been strongly linked with Arsenal and may suit Barcelona equally as well.
Eden Hazard, Chelsea:
Sensational reports from Spanish outlet Don Balon claim the Chelsea star has wasted no time and has already reached out to Barca.
The report says he has turned his back on a move to Real Madrid and is prepared to hit them where it hurts by signing for their La Liga rivals.
