UK-based NGO Hamara Healthy Living Centre, Leeds, here Thursday announced a proposed broad-based phased mass welfare plan for AJK through the dispensation of services to the needy in Health and Education sectors.
Unveiling the plan, visiting Chairman of Hamara Healthy Living Centre, Muhammad Farooq Butt, leader of the three-member British delegation comprising Iqbal Zaman, Manager Social Services Department of British government, at Leeds and Executive Committee member of the NGO and Arif Iqbal, Incharge Health and Social Care activities, told newsmen here Thursday that the plan was primarily being launched to enhance the professional capabilities of those related to the medical and educational fields including doctors and para-medical staff as well as the academic staff of private and public sector hospitals of AJK.
Senior leaders of AJK Muslim Conference Tariq Ismail Khan and Kousar Rasheed as well as renowned social worker and President of AJK NGOs Forum Mauroof Mir were also present on this occasion.
Elaborating the objective of the current visit of the delegation, Arif Iqbal, Incharge Health and Social Care Activities of Hamara organisation, said professional training programmes including workshops will be managed to impart latest professional know-how to those working in health and education sectors through the participation of British expertise of the related fields.
He said that the proposed plan would particularly benefit the elderly people, unskilled women and the youth. He said that a detailed report about the visit of the British NGO's delegation would be submitted to the Department of International Development of UK.
Arif Iqbal said that during the current visit to AJK, delegation visited various private and public sector hospitals and educational institutions besides the social welfare organisations including Kashmir International Relief Foundation, Kashmir Orphan Centre, Insari Welfare Trust, Aisha Hospital Chakswari, District Education (Women) offices, DHQ Hospital and shared various ideas for their collective role for the dispensation of required services to the needy. He termed the current visit of the delegation very useful.
