Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfikar Ali Magsi on Thursday said that the fast changing world was no more friendly to those nations, who do not value knowledge. Addressing the students and faculty members after awarding degrees to the graduate at 9th convocation of Balochistan University here, he added that under the patronage of President Asif Ali Zardari.
The government was committed to the cause of education. He maintained that the nation had woken up to implement what the Father of the Nation had said in 1947; "There is no doubt that the future of our state will and must greatly depend upon the type of education and the way in which we bring up our children as the future servants of Pakistan.
Education does not merely mean academic education, what we have to do is to mobilise our people and build up the character of our future generation." He called upon the students to react to the challenges faced by the nation in the light of what you have learnt. Underlining the importance of scientific culture, the Governor said that science and technology supported by quality education was at the core of competitiveness and transformation of a nation.
"Have an imaginative understanding of education. Don't fear innovation even though innovation may have a high failure rate; because in the end only the innovative nations succeed and prosper." Appreciating the yearly report cited by Vice Chancellor Balochistan University Dr Masoon Yasinzai the Governor termed it a matter of great satisfaction.
