Senator Talha Mehmood, Chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Interior has seen involvement of Indian agencies in creating the worst type of law and order situation in Karachi. Federal government should form a comprehensive policy to deal with the terrorism, criminal activities and political issues, Talha Mehmood said while talking to reporters in his office here on Thursday.
"At this crucial juncture, when Pakistan is facing the worst ever crisis of its history, we have to keep our differences aside and join hands to save Pakistan by ending the linguistic, ethnic and regional conflicts", he said, adding that "We are all Pakistanis and must work to save Pakistan".
Government should raise the matter with international community and provide them proofs of Indian involvement in terrorist and criminal activities inside Pakistan. By creating the worst law and order situation in Karachi, India wants to further deteriorate the economy of Pakistan, as this city is the financial capital of the country, Talha said. Adding that worsening law and order in Karachi would affect the exports, industrial and economic activities resulting rise in unemployment and poverty.
Karachi incidents are an eye opener not only for the Government but also for every patriotic individual of Pakistan, as some hidden forces became active to push Pakistan into a ditch of linguistic war, Talha maintained. He asked the government to take stock of the situation and bring the situation under control.
Government, he said has miserably failed to maintain the law and order in the country while terrorists and criminals are openly challenging the writ of the government. He said that the lawlessness has engulfed Pakistan and destroyed the social fabric of the country, while the responsible institutions are managing escape from responsibilities under the garb of war against terrorism. He stressed the need of holding a national conference to create a sense of unity, solidarity and fraternity in Pakistan.
