Japanese ambassador to Pakistan, Chihiro Atsumi and federal minister for water and power, Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday discussed the current political situation, impact of fight against terrorism and issues relating to the economy and the power sector.
According to a press release issued by the ministry, the ambassador committed to providing financial and technical assistance to Pakistan for its energy sector. It added that the energy sector was one of the five sectors prioritised for partnership in the Friends of Pakistan Conference in Tokyo.
The Minister revealed to the Ambassador that a detailed power vision has been explained in the strategy paper inclusive of specific water and power sector projects. He said that Japan has always helped Pakistan and its financial assistance announced during Friends of Pakistan meeting will provide great support to the people of Pakistan.
