Bangladesh included two uncapped players in their 15-man squad for next month's Twenty20 World Cup in England on Monday. Middle order batsman Shamsur Rahman and wicketkeeper/batsman Mohammad Mithun were included for their consistent performances in the domestic game, chief selector Rafiqul Alam said.
Left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak returns to the side after being suspended by International Cricket Council (ICC) from last November to March of this year because of a suspect bowling action, which has now been rectified. The selectors also recalled pacer Shahadat Hossain, who missed a triangular-series involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in January because of poor form.
"We wanted to have an experienced bowling attack for the World Cup and thus recalled Razzak and Shahadat in the squad," said Alam. Pacers Nazmul Hossain and Mahbubul Alam made the way for the experienced duo.
SQUAD: Mohammad Ashraful (captain), Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal, Zunaed Siddique, Roqibul Hassan, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Naeem Islam, Abdur Razzak, Shahadat Hossain, Syed Rasel, Mahmud Ullah, Rubel Hossain, Shamsur Rahman, Mohammad Mithun.
