Federal Minister for Population Welfare Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan called on Pakistani High Commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hassan and other officers of Pakistan High Commission in London on Friday.
Both the sides discussed the issues relevant to Pakistani Community in United Kingdom and the Minister emphasised for finding out ways to redress the community's problems and means to foster their support for national importance issues, says a message received here.
She said that Pakistan is capable to defend its sovereignty and our nuclear assets are in safe hands. The misperceptions about the country need to be corrected through aggressive diplomatic and media campaign. Dr Firdous further said that the present government was fully committed to uphold the vision of Benazir of a moderate and stable Pakistan. She said, "we need substantive international assistance in overcoming economic problem, which in turn leads to many other problems".
