Federal Education Minister Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani said on Friday that about 10,000 teachers would be given training in the field of educational management and monitoring under the Ed-Link Project being implemented in the country with the support of US ED-Link Project.
The minister said this while to a US Ed-Link Project during briefing given by the delegation to Minister for Education on the working of Ed-Link Project in Pakistan. The Minister said that the government was giving top priority to education and efforts are being made for improvement of educational standards and facilities across the country.
The Minister was briefed that Ed-Link Project is in progress in all the four provinces, Islamabad Capital Territory and Fata. The Ed-Link Project aims at training 10,000 teachers in the field of educational management and monitoring.
Under Ed-Link Project a total of 52 students including 26 male and 26 female will be sent to US for training this year, the delegation informed the minister. US Ed-Link Programme will also set up 70 Science Clubs and establish 5 Model Science Labs in Islamabad. The Ed-Link has already established tent schools for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and have accommodated 12,000 students in these tent schools.
The Minister while appreciating the efforts of Ed-Link Project said that for promoting educational activities and improving educational standards, the Ministry of Education would work in close collaboration with this useful project. Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani said that the government would extend maximum co-operation in the working of Ed-Link through the National Steering Committee.
