Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) has set up a relief fund to help out the displaced families of Swat valley. The PML-Q President Chaudhry Senator Shujaat Hussain has appealed to all the Muslim Leaguers and well-to-do people to pool resources for needy ones, migrating from Swat.
He has donated Rs one million in the relief fund and also vowed to help out the displaced people of the valley. He also expressed sympathies with the plight of innocent people of those areas of NWFP where army operation was being conducted. Due to non-conveying of advance information about the operation, the residents of effected areas were facing difficult situation, he added.
Expressing grave concern over situation in Swat, Shujaat said lack of interest, confusion and non-serious approach of coalition was leading to instability in the country. Due to uncertain policies, around 0.6 million people in the NWFP were forced to relocate and now they were leading their lives in a pathetic conditions, he said.
The PML-Q President further said there was no certain policy of present regime and those who in the past opposed the military operation were now forced to launch army operation.
It may be mentioned that armed clashes between the security forces and militants in the scenic Swat valley have been causing continuous migration of the local people. A large number of affectees have reached in the parts of NWFP besides other areas of the country.
Moreover, people hailing from different walks of life have announced full backing to the military action against militants in Swat and said the whole nation was united to save Pakistan from the anti-state elements.
They also condemned the elements who are bent upon to harm national integrity and security by committing suicide attacks to achieve their ulterior motives.
Commenting on the stand taken by the government to deal with militants in Swat with an iron hand, FPCCI president Sultan Ahmad Chawla said the entire business community was united to save Pakistan from the anti-state elements. He said, "The entire business community, all chambers, trade bodies and associations under the umbrella of FPCCI, stand united with the government to root out the menace of terrorism from the country."
Another business leader Iftikhar Ali Malik asked militants to cease their anti-state activities. He said the business community will never let down the government and will extend all possible co-operation to get rid the menace of terrorism.
