Indonesian shares ended 1.71 percent lower on Monday on profit-taking after recent sharp gains, weighed by a weak rupiah and falls in several Asian markets, dealers said. The Jakarta Composite Index fell 31.79 points to 1,830.74 in heavy volume. Car distributor Astra slid 8.35 percent to 19,750 rupiah, tin miner Timah dropped 5.19 percent to 1,920 and Bank Permata fell 1.85 percent to 530.
The rupiah ended at 10,365 to the dollar compared to 10,375 at the last close.
