Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has established a special relief fund from Rs one million for the help of immigrants from Swat and Buner due to military operation against miscreants and terrorists in these areas.
This was decided in an emergency meeting at RCCI. The President of the Chamber Syed Asad Mashadi chaired the meeting. The meeting decided not only to provide daily usage items to the displaced people but also continue their support till safe return to their homes.
On the occasion President Syed Asad Mashadi said that RCCI always played its positive role either at any natural disaster or hard time and this moment RCCI would also keep its tradition alive by helping the displaced persons.
He informed the meeting that a special cell has been constituted at RCCI to collect donations in the form of cash, cross cheques and different items from its members under his own supervision. Moreover, a delegation of RCCI would also visit the refugees' camp at NWFP to review the ground realities, so that maximum help may be extended to these homeless people.
Earlier, a separate meeting was also held at Commissioner's office in which President Syed Asad Mashadi took part on special invitation and assured district administration for full co-operation on behalf of business community in this regard.-PRRCCI sets up special relief fund for IDPs
