Pakistan Wapda will take on two-times AFC President's Cup champions Regar-TadAZ (Tajikistan) in their opening Group-A match of 5th AFC President's Cup Qualifier 2009 today (Thursday). Asian Football Confederation (AFC) allowed the all Nepal Football Association (ANFA) to host Group-A's six matches.
Silver medalist at Lahore two years ago and host Nepal Police Club will take on Taiwan Power Company (Chinese Taipei) on the same day. National soccer title-holder, Wapda earned entry into the 11-team show when they topped Pakistan Premier Football League 2008 at Rawalpindi's Army Sports Complex last December, thus becoming 54th National Champion of Pakistan. Wapda team reached Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday to appear in fifth AFC President's Cup Qualifier 2009.
