The Karachi Port handled 91,071 tonnes of cargo including 68,884 tonnes of import and 22,187 tonnes of export, 3,122 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The freights comprised of 81,071 tonnes of dry cargo including 48,840 tonnes of general cargo; 7,961 tonnes of cement; 2,415 tonnes of sugar; 4,970 tonnes of scrap; 5,131 tonnes of clinker; 10,100 tonnes of coal; 1,654 tonnes of rice and 10,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely viz Apl Guangzhou, CE Pacific, Gemini, EDO, Yakima Princess and Abtin 1 sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eight vessels namely Silver Craft, Kota Layar, Dubai Jewel, BK Duke, Kimon A, Hamra, Gulf Tiger and Naftocement XV are currently at the berths to load/off load containers, coal, rice, general cargo, LSFO and cement respectively. Three ships namely Hamra, Silver Craft and Botany Tribute are expected to sail on Friday. While four more ships namely Kota Layar, Team Al Emirates, Hyun Jin KS 3 and gulf Tiger are expected to sail on Saturday.
Five vessels viz YM Inventive, Saigon Express, Kamenit, Asian Queen and Halal due to arrive on Friday, carrying containers, cement, sulphur and cement respectively. While seven more ships SC Liaoning, Uni-Angel, Hanjin Port adelaide, Shayan 1, Megah Cement, Fabulous and Queen Arrow II are due to arrive on Saturday, carrying orthoxylene, containers, cement, clinker and cement respectively.

PORT QASIM
A total cargo volume of 79,028 tonnes including 56,753 tonnes of import, 22,275 tonnes of export cargo and 2,451 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours on Friday. The cargoes comprised of 34,857, tonnes of furnace oil; 2,400 tonnes of palm oil; 2,022 tonnes of canola seeds; 3,554 tonnes of chemicals; 4,239 tonnes of cement and 31,956 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Four ships namely CV CMA CGM Turquoise, CV Hanjin Rio Janeiro, MT Chung Feng and MT Sea Lion sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. While three more ships CV Lahore Express, MT Gas Emperor and MV Orient-III are expected to sail on the same day.
Nine ships namely Lahore Express, CV Hanjin Rio Janeiro, MV Bolan, MV Dolphine, MV Orient-III, MV Iran Kermanshah, MT Gas Emperor, MT Chung Feng and MT Sea Lion carrying containers, cement, canola seeds, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during reported period.
Ten vessels namely Maersk Novazzano, Al-Salam-II, Dez Hou Hai, Princess Layan, Indradi, Bunga Melati, Ashraf-B, Syria star, Sea star and Laila queen carrying containers, diesel oil, rape seeds, cement, palm oil and cement, are currently at the outer anchorage.
Six ships namely CV Maersk Novazzano, MV Princess layan, MT Indradi, MT SC Liaoning, MT Al-Salam-II and MT Bunga Melati-4 scheduled to take berths at QICT, MW-2, MW-1, EVTL and LCT respectively on Friday. Two more ships namely MT Sea Frontier, and MT chemstar King are due to arrive at Port Qasim on the same day. While another ship MV Zenobia is due to arrive on Saturday.
