Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal has finalised a plan to start 'Mobile Langar System' to provide free two times meal to over 60,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs), Chairman Pakistan Bait ul Mal Zamurd Khan said. Talking to state TV, he said currently PBM is providing two times meal to 40,000 IDPs. PBM has also decided to provide cold water and 'Sharbat e Rooh Afza' to the IDPs.
He said a committee from within the IDPs has been constituted to distribute the daily need items and meal among the fellow IDPs. A family package has been prepared for the IDPs consisting of essential item flour, sugar, etc to meet their daily needs. PBM has also started paying a sum of Rs 5,000 to each IDP family as cash help to enable them to meet any emergency. A 20 bed hospital has been set up in Jalozai camp which is providing health care facility to around 500 patients daily, he said.
Another 20 bed hospital would also be established in collaboration with Capital Hospital Islamabad. A proposal was being contemplated to shift cold area IDPs of Swat and elsewhere to Abbottabad, Mansehra and Naran to provide them solace from harsh summer, he concluded.
