Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 80,012 tonnes of cargo including 58,874 tonnes of import and 21,138 tonnes of export; 2,361 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The freights comprised of 77,471 tonnes of dry cargo including 29,456 tonnes of general cargo; 18,045 tonnes of cement; 26,100 tonnes of coal; 2,541 tonnes of sugar; 1,330 tonnes of sulphur and 2,541 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Eight ships namely viz Banglar Maya, Apl Sharjah, Selendang Nilam, Swift Ace, Quetta, TS Malaysia, Uni Promote and Asian Queen sailed out to sea, carrying general cargo, containers, general cargo, cars, tankers, containers and bulk respectively, during the reported period.
Nine vessels namely Hyundai Duke, Ocean Host, Christina Scan, Pacific Faithful, Al Farabi, Faial, Moyra, Al Marwah and Queen Arrow II are currently at the berths to load/off load containers, bulk, general cargo, bunker, bulk, tanker and bulk respectively.
Two ships namely Pacific Faithful and Sea Green are expected to sail on Friday. While three more ships namely Queen Arrow II, Hyundai Duke and Al Karim M are expected to sail on Saturday.
Five vessels viz CE Pacific, Mol Silver Fern, Miyunhe, Cap Georgia and Atlantic Express due to arrive on Friday, carrying crude oil, containers and steel respectively. While seven more ships Iron Monger-3, Karina Theresa, Cliper Daisy, Chemstar Venus, Mol Ability, H&H Tide and Hansa Liberty carrying crude oil, Molasses, ethanol and containers respectively, are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIMA total cargo volume of 92,098 tonnes including 68,836 tonnes of import; 23,262 tonnes of export cargo and 2,113 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours on Friday.
The cargoes comprised of 45,328 tonnes of diesel oil; 4,265 tonnes of rapeseeds; 6,830 tonnes of chemicals; 863 tonnes of general cargo; 2,314 tonnes of cement; 4,832 tonnes of rice and 27,666 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely MT Al-Soor-II, CV MSC Bulgaria and CV Hurst Point sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. While four more ships viz CV Dubai Express, MT Taiyoh-II, MV Bolan and MV Beluga Fortune are expected to sail on the same day.
Eight ships namely CV Dubai Express, CV Hurst Point, MV Zenobia, MV Bolan, MV Beluga Fortune, MT Dez Hou-Hai, MT Royal Diamond-7 and MT Taiyoh-II are currently occupying berths to load/off load containers, rice, cement general cargo, rapeseeds, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during reported period.
Eight vessels namely Maersk Novazzano, Al-Aqeela-1, Aqua Grace, Green Line, Abyot, Syria Star, Sea star and Laila queen carrying container and cement are currently at the outer anchorage.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Novazzano, CV Asir and MV Laila Queen are scheduled to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Friday. While four more ships namely MV Kamenit, MV Orient-III, MV Shaheen Al-Ghanim and MT Sichem Marseille expected to load/off load cement, clinker and chemicals respectively, are due to arrive at Port Qasim on the same day.
