Punjab Minister for Culture and Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr Tanvir-ul-Islam has said that Punjab Sports Board (PSB), by holding Inter-Provincial Under-16 Girls Sports Gala has conveyed a message that people of Pakistan want peace and will defeat terrorists by promoting sports activities in the country.
He expressed these views while addressing prize distribution ceremony of Sports Gala at Punjab stadium, here on Friday night. Pakistan Sports Board organised the sport festival while Punjab Sports Board was the host of the event. Dr Tanvir further said that Inter-Provincial Sports Competition would promote harmony and brotherhood among the people of provinces.
Punjab stood first in the Inter-Provincial Sport Gala by securing 531 points while Sindh got second position by getting 325 points whereas Azad Kashmir got third position and secured 208 points, Balochistan was in forth position at victory stand. Minister Sports distributed trophies and shields among the position holders.
He announced net cash prize of Rs 50 thousand for the wining team and Rs 25 thousand each for second and third position holders. On this occasion, Chairman Chief Minister Taskforce on Sports Ijaz Gul, Chairperson CM Taskforce Niva Usman, Parliamentary Secretary Mian Aslam, Add. Secretary Sports, MD PSD and DG Sports Punjab and a large number of spectators were present in the Punjab stadium.
