The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Saturday signed a package deal with the affectees of sector I-11and I-12 to solve the forty years old outstanding issue to get clear possession of both these sectors. Speaking on the occasion Tariq Mahmood Khan, Chairman CDA, said.
"In pursuance of the vision of the Prime Minister and personal supervision and interest of secretary Cabinet, CDA has taken a step in right direction, by signing this package." The agreement would be welcome news for the 2500 allottees of plots in Sector I-11, who were suffering due to non-possession since last 20 years, he added.
Tariq Mehmood said that the sectors I-11 and I-12 were in an adverse possession of affectees of Village Soran and Bokra since four decades and about 2500 plots were allotted by CDA in Sector I-11. After the clear possession, as per package deal, CDA would get 12000 kanal of land. In addition to it more than 300 commercial plots in Sector I-11 were also in adverse possession, which would also be available for auction, he said.
According to the agreement 2400 plots would be allotted to the affectees of the village Soran (Sector I-11) and Bokra (Sector I-12) along with the cash compensation for the Build-up Property (BUP). The head of the affectees committee, Malik Rehmat Khan has welcomed the signing of the agreement and assured that they would help in implementing the agreement in letter and spirit and would remove any hurdle coming in the way of possession.
He said that they were happy because they are getting the plots in the same area where they have been living since centuries, where they have the graves of their ancestors and they are not being displaced. Mahmood appreciated the co-operation extended by the residents of the area, saying that with signing of the package deal a much-lingered issue has been resolved amicably. All board Members of CDA and other officers were present on the occasion.
