Workers of various trade unions take out rally: charter of demand submitted to National Assembly Speaker
Thousands of workers belonging to the various Industrial Trade Unions alongwith their representatives took out a mass procession in Islamabad on Tuesday from National Press Club (NPC). The procession was taken out under the aegis of "Pakistan Workers Federation" to press the workers commensurate with price hike and restore Selection Grade and move over in the National Pay Scale in the next Federal Budget.
They demanded not to privatise National Public Utilities including Wapda, Electricity, Railways, Postal, Oil & Gas and Pakistan Steel Mills and bring the contract and temporary and work-charged on Regular basis and get amended the outdated Labour Laws including Industrial Relations Act, 2008 and Banking Companies Ordinance Section-27/B.
The workers were carrying banners and national flags and red banners. It was led by Khurshid Ahmad, General Secretary, Chaudhry Talib Nawaz President, Zahoor Awan Deputy General Secretary of the Federation alongwith other representatives of the Federation namely; Rehman Ghani, Zafar Ullah Niazi, representatives of Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union (CBA), Chaudhry Yaseen, General Secretary and Aurangzeb Khan President, CDA Employees Union, Waqar Ahmad, Salah Uddin and Riaz Bhatti High Ways and PWD, Muhammad Akran Bunda, Osama Tariq, Abdul Rauf, Hameed Jadoon (Attock Oil), Syed Sajjad Hussain Gardazi, (Kohinoor), Tikka Khan President, Akhbar Faroosh Federation and President Northern Region Pakistan Workers Federation.
The workers marched through the main Roads and held a Mass Rally before the National Parliament. They also submitted a detailed memorandum containing their demands addressed to the Speaker of the National Assembly.-PR
