Criminal activities such as stealing of vehicles and snatching of cell phones inside the premises of the National Institute of Cardio Vascular Diseases (NICVD) are on the rise, despite security measures in and around the institute. The hospital has its own security system and the guards at the entrance points issue tokens to every vehicle and take back tokens at the time of return but rampant crimes despite such strict security measures are shocking.
Recently, Arshad a resident of Paposh Nagar, who had come for his father's routine check-up lost his Suzuki Highroof (CA-8937). Talking to Business Recorder on Thursday, the victim said that he had parked his vehicle in the parking lot of the hospital after receiving an entry pass from the security official at the main gate at 1pm. When I returned after two hours of medical examination of my father, I did not find my vehicle there, he said.
"I immediately approached the security officials present at the gate but they replied contemptuously that they did not know about the vehicle," he added. He said he approached Frere police station and got registered a case of vehicle theft. Sources at the NICVD said that without security officials' support no one could dare committing any crime and it seems that they are involved in criminal activities.
