US copper futures rose at the open on Thursday as investor appetite for risk grew after a batch of better-than-expected data pointed to more stability in the world's largest economy. Copper for July delivery up 3.00 cents at $2.1510 a lb by 11:09 am EDT (1509 GMT) on the New York Mercantile Exchange's COMEX division. Morning range from $2.0790 to $2.1520. COMEX estimated futures volume at 5,363 lots by 10 am.
