Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, leader of the house in senate has underlined the need for provision of basic amenities in rural areas of the federal capital to allay the suffering of the people and improve their life standard. He expressed these views in a meeting with Islamabad administration and the local representatives of various union councils, says a press release here on Friday.
He directed the Islamabad administration to take the stakeholders in confidence before initiating any development scheme in the rural areas of the federal capital. He said that there was a dire need to improve sanitary condition and waste management system of these areas. Earlier senior official of District Administration of Islamabad informed the leader of the house about the proposed projects.
It was informed that pilot projects would be launched in 12 Union Council. One village would be selected from each Union Council. Nayyar nominated various focal persons from each union council to co-ordinate with the Islamabad Administration for effective implementation of the schemes.
Senator chaired another meeting in which ways and means to improve the agriculture in the rural area were discussed in detail. He was of the view that agriculture is the backbone of country's economy and sincere efforts were require to give a boost to this sector. During the meeting recommendations were made to constitute farmers co-ordination committee. The Committee would asses the condition of agriculture in the areas and would identify the loopholes.
