The government of Norway has provided Rs 1 billion to Pakistan for the assistance of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The Muslim community in Norway enjoys full rights and is free to express its passions in cultural, lingual, religious and other affairs, said ambassador of Norway to Pakistan Robert Kvile on Friday.
Addressing at a lunch arranged in his honour by Tehrik-e-Akhuwat-e-Islami (TAI) here, he said that over 20 thousand Pakistanis living in Oslo, the capital of Norway, enjoy all the facilities. He said that both the countries enjoy good relations and a host of projects are running in Pakistan with the help of Norway.
The ambassador said that Norway was the only western country, which recognises the Hamas and started dialogue with them for a lasting peace in Palestine. He appreciated the efforts of Allama Inayat Ali Shakir for the promotion of interfaith harmony in the country and expressed the desire that his mission be expanded across the globe.
Chairman TAI Allama Inayat Ali Shakir said suicide attacks are un-Islamic and no religion permits it. He said that a handful of miscreants are trying to defame the name of religion and the country, but they would not succeed in their nefarious designs. Shakir said that Islam gives the message of peace, tolerance, love, harmony and prosperity, adding that Islam also lays great emphasis for protecting the rights of minorities.
