Local Government Ordinance: amendments will be made in consultation with parties, says Qaim
Sindh Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that amendments will be made in existing 'Local Government Ordinance' in consultation with coalition political parties. Effective changes in the LG system are required so the problems being faced by the people could be resolved at grass root level, he added.
This he said while talking to media personnel after offering fateha at the graves of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Shaheed ZA Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bux on Sunday. The chief minister said that first meeting was held in Islamabad and other meetings will also be held to finalise the Local Government System in the country.
He said that Sindh province has submitted proposals to Federal Government to prepare new NFC Award on comprehensive basis because Sindh was major Tax collecting province, in this regard the share of Sindh may be increased, and he hoped after Budget NFC Award would be finalised.
He said, in new budget relief will be provided to government servants. The provincial budget will be presented on June 15 or 16, in which effective measures will be taken to provide relief to the masses.
He said that all out efforts are being made to improve law and order situation throughout the province and in this regard honest, hard working, dedicated police officers are being already posted at different places.
On the occasion Sindh Law Minister Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Amir Khan Bhutto, PPP leader Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Muhammad Salim Soomro, and large number of PPP workers were present.
Later, Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, visited the house of late Muhammad Anwar Bhutto Ex-MNA in village Bangul Dero and offered condoled his death with his father and his brother.
Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmad Khuhro, provincial ministers Mukesh Chawla, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Jam Mehtab Ahmad Deher, Sasui Palijo, and Ambassador of Pakistan in UAE Khurshid Ahmad Junejo, MNA Aftab Shahban Mirani, Nazir Ahmad Bughio, Ghulam Mujadid Isran, MPA Haji Munawar Ali Abbasi, PPP local leaders were also present on the occasion.
