President of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) Anis Ahmed Sheikh said that Pakistani nation had pinned many hopes with the new generation for bringing a revolution in the existing system of British Rule and they must come up to its expectations. They should perform to alleviate their pains and miseries by providing them relief.
He was speaking at a reception in honour of new elected persons of Civil Superior Services here on Sunday. He said: "I do hope that they would not become a part of corruption mafia and corrupt bureaucracy and will avoid red-tapism and they would perform their duties honestly and up to the entire satisfaction of the masses. Being a patriotic Pakistani, civil servants are duty bound to serve the nation. He said Pakistan doesn't need new structures. It needs the strengthening of structures that exist.
The truth of the matter is that entering the civil service is no longer an alluring career option for the talented young men and women of this country, he added. Perhaps, the greatest damage to the attractiveness of the civil service came in the wake of the devolution plan that rendered the most coveted service group. The remuneration of a new entrant into the civil service is three times less than what a telecom company would pay to its junior employee.
Mian Mughis Ahmed Sheikh said that civil servants should make themselves capable to meet all challenges in their life. He said that there was no shortage of electricity in the country in fact there was red-tapism which is main hurdle in payment to IPPs and oil distribution companies. Khawaja Muhammad Abdullah said that Civil servants should think like a Pakistani and they are neither Punjabis, nor Sindhi, Balochi nor Pathan nor Kashmiri.
He said that they must serve like a patriotic Pakistani. Muhammad Khan Saddozai, Khawaja Usman and Vice President of MCCI Brigadier Ata-ullah Khan informed about the problems being faced by the industry. Masood Aslam Trainer, Syed Ali Akbar (group-leader), Mian Mehdi Raja of Customs and Excise group Rizwan Ahmed Gondal Police group and Muhammad Kamran Taj of Foreign services group have exchanged views with the industrialists .
