Former Chairman, Pakistan Readymade Garment Manufacturer and Exporters Association (PRGMEA), Ijaz Khokhar, has stressed the need for formulating an aggressive 'National Marketing Policy' to solve multifarious problems of industrial sector.
In an interview with Business Recorder here on Sunday he said that current era is an epoch of economic war and it is very taught to stand and compete world economic competitors without drawing comprehensive lines of action.
Ijaz was of the opinion that marketing policy would help resolve the growing problems being confronted by the business community of the country. All concerned quarters, including Commerce Ministry should engage international and national experts for the designing of 'National Marketing Policy' for rescuing the industrial sector of the country, he said.
Ijaz said that at this grave situation it is high time that government should introduce short and long term policies for growth of small and medium enterprises in new trade policy if it really intends to enhance the country's export to a greater extend. The government should take revolutionary steps to facilitate local and foreign investors, he suggested.
Ijaz said that the new trade policy should be based on short and long term policies which deal with every sector separately because their problems and difficulties entirely different from each other. In order to attain the export target and to make trade policy successful government should constitute sector-wise monitoring committees for assessing the pace of export activities and efficiency of all concerned departments on monthly bases.
