Agriculture scientists urged to follow changing environment for maximum yield

Out of 800 ecological systems at the Globe Pakistan has twenty Agro-ecological systems which are being changed due to global warming. Agricultural Scientists should have to redesign agronomical practices according to the changing environmental scenario in order to achieve maximum yield potential from limited natural resources.
This was stated by Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, while addressing the participants of 36th Common Trading Program at Syndicate Hall as a Chief Guest. Professor Iqrar Khan added that in order to cope with emerging challenges we have to introduce precession agriculture along with Bio-technology and Genetic-Engineering in agriculture sector. He maintained that in the days to come, Scientists would have to utilise ocean waters for the production of food crops.
He said that UAF has produced 44000, trained manpower so far including 698 Ph D scholars. He maintained that 1200 scholars from various agricultural institutions were perusing their higher education at abroad in which 700 belong to UAF. Dr Iqrar Khan told that UAF has signed 75 MoUs including 38 with International Organisations.
