KCBT wheat futures lower

Hard red winter wheat futures on the Kansas City Board of Trade ended lower Wednesday, weighed down by harvest pressure and ample supplies of world wheat. The KCBT July contract ended down 1/4 cent at $6.22-3/4 per bushel after ranging from $6.13 to $6.28. Wheat prices were weighed down by the approach of active harvest and technical weakness, traders said.
Drier weather in the central and southern Plains should allow farmers to make progress in winter wheat harvest. Suspicions that a cargo of Russian wheat may have carried false quality documents unlikely to cost Russia its place as top exporter to Egypt analysts.
