President of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF), Pandit Bhushan Bazaz in occupied Kashmir has said that India and Pakistan must resume the dialogue process on the Kashmir dispute to find a durable and lasting solution to this vexed issue as per the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
JKDF in a statement said that Bhushan Bazaz said this while addressing a gathering held in connection with observance of the 5th death anniversary of his son, Guruposho Bazaz. JKDF President said that the issue of Kashmir was the main hurdle in the cordial relations between two nuclear powers, Pakistan and India.
He stressed the need for people-to-people contact to bring the two countries closer. This, he said, was necessary to move towards the peaceful resolution of the dispute.
The JKDF in a statement said that the party convened a special meeting, chaired by Bhushan Bazaz in remembrance of Guruposho Bazaz, who was killed by unidentified gunmen in Canada on June 19, 2004. Various political and social personalities of the Valley expressed solidarity with the Bazaz family. The meeting reiterated the demand for seeking justice and hoped that the Canadian police would bring the culprits to book.
