The buyers on the commodity wholesale markets opted for lifting when prices fall to their choice. Some items ventured to rise but come under pressure of low sale during the week ended on June 20, 2009. In the post business session on Monday a couple of essential items depicted up trend like Irri 6 Sindh and makai new.
Irri 6 Sindh low type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2450 while the other type gained Rs 25 to Rs 2675, makai new posted loss of Rs 25 to Rs 1575, cotton seed oilcake also showed uppish trend showing a gain of Rs 20, to Rs 1250 and the better one was quoted at Rs 1270, repeseed cakes, however conceded Rs 20 to Rs 720 while other type was quoted at Rs 725.
On Jodia Bazaar fluctuations were not at hand. On Tuesday there was no trading on account of death anniversary of the Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (R.A). On Wednesday largely commodities stayed under cover of sizzling day and preferred to stay indoor. However, some variations were received from Jodia Bazaar in China dyes. On Thursday, when sluggishly moving grain market started proceedings rising trend was evident, such as gram dal Australia low type turned higher by Rs 50 to Rs 3600, while the other type gained Rs 100 to Rs 3850, gram 50x50 low type rose by Rs 50 to RS 3175, while the other type shed same amount to Rs 3350 yellow peas dal Canada scaled up by Rs 50 to Rs 3000 while the other type was marked at Rs 3150, dal beetle gained Rs 50 to Rs 3750 while the other type was quoted at RS 3950, masoor Canada quoted higher at Rs 8600, while masoor dal Canada quoted higher at Rs 8600, masoor and masoor dal Canada was marked at Rs 10100, urad Burma better type was up Rs 150 to Rs 2250, while the other was quoted at Rs 2600 sugar low type rose by 50 to Rs 4300, while the other type was marked at Rs 4700, cottonseed oilcake with bag rose by Rs 30 to Rs 1280 while other type was quoted at Rs 1300.
On Jodia Bazaar Kirana items per 40 Kg black pepper Singapore rose by Rs 200 to Rs 8200, Black pepper Brazil rose by Rs 200 to Rs 9200, mace ended higher by Rs 1000 to Rs 33,000, big caradamom rose by Rs 300 to Rs 1500, cloves ended up Rs 500 to Rs 15500, dry ginger China rose by Rs 400 to Rs 5400. Rs 100 to Rs 8500, sago ended up by Rs 50 to Rs 1775, star aniseed rose by Rs 100 to Rs 6500, cuminseed ended lower by Rs 200 to Rs 7500, darchini rose by Rs 100 to Rs 4000, Haldi rose by Rs 650 to Rs 3200 and turmeric Pak rose by Rs 350 to Rs 4000.
On Friday stable trend was seen on the wholesale grain, seed and oilcake market on Friday as most of the participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazaar milk powder closed mixed. The changes were: MILK POWDER SKIMMED (Per bag of 25 kgs): Irish skimmed was quoted at Rs 6,750 and Haleeb SMP was quoted at Rs 6,500.
VEGETABLE: Corolac ended higher by Rs 150 to Rs 8,050 and Melco Veg moved lower by Rs 100 to Rs 6,300.
On Saturday upward trend was seen in process of subdued business. On the cereal side urad from Burma was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 2600 and better type was sharply up by Rs 300 to Rs 2900, wheat old and new Bardana rose by Rs 5 to Rs 2365-2380, respectively, sugar low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 4300 and good type was higher by Rs 300 to Rs 5000, Gur low type picked up Rs 400 to Rs 600 and best type was up by
Rs 100 to Rs 6200 and Khandsari followed same pattern and rose by Rs 200 to Rs 6200, other items did not show any change.
On Jodia Bazaar jute goods closed higher. The changes were: JUTE GOODS TWINE (Per kg): 20x3 Brown ended up by Rs 3.50 to Rs 63, 16x3 CRT/Indus finished higher by Rs 3.50 to Rs 63, 8x3 moved upward by Rs 2 to Rs 90 and 40x2 Brown went up by Rs 3 to Rs 60.
HESSIAN CLOTH (Per 91.44 meter): 45x10 Amin was quoted at Rs 2,375 to 45x11 moved higher by Rs 50 to Rs 2,500.
PINEAPPLE (Per carton): Polac was quoted at Rs 1,250.
